        How to measure your room?

        Before you can work out the cost of your new floor you will need to calculate how much you need. Below we show a few examples of different shaped rooms as well as some important points to note.

        Do I need to add extra for wastage?

        Yes, with all jobs there is always some anticipated wastage. We recommend adding 5% to your final calculation. Simply multiply your final total area by 1.05. This is the quantity of flooring you should purchase.
        One Stop Flooring - How to Measure a Rectangular Room
        Rectangular Room:  Measure the length and width of your room and multiply them together. For example if your room is 3 metres long by 3 meters wide, the total area will be 9 metres square as 3 x 3 = 9.
        One Stop Flooring - How to Measure an L Shaped Room
        L Shaped Room: Split the room into rectangular sections as shown in the diagram. Multiply the length and width of both sections to find the area. Then, add the two areas together to find your total area.
        One Stop Flooring - How to Measure a Complicated Room
        More Complicated Room: Simply follow the method from the previous example by splitting your room into as many rectangles as required. Then multiply the length and width of each section and add them all together.

        Kahrs Oak Paris – Natural Oil

        This Oak Paris floor is an ideal choice for those desiring a modern yet minimalist look. The 1 strip designed boards have a clean and steady grain which combined with the oiled finish provides a natural appearance and a velvety soft feel. The extra long planks measure 2200mm x 187mm and have a thickness of 15mm with a 3.5mm top layer of European oak. They have been stained to give an especially light and sunny look and also feature micro bevelling on all sides. Kahrs Oak Paris floors are very hard wearing and come with a dependable Kahrs 30 year residential warranty.

        For oiled floors Kahrs recommends an additional coat of Satin Oil is applied after installation.
